Cheap and Innovative Storage Ideas for Kid’s Rooms

It’s the summer holidays! Hooray! Time for the kids to turn their neat, ordered bedrooms into chasms of chaos where expeditions are needed just to find a clean pair of socks. With families now struggling to budget childcare and holidays over the summer, the last expense you need are storage items. So here are some cheaper, innovative storage ideas to help keep their rooms in check.

Kid's clothes hooks that hang over the door

These over the door hooks are a fantastic idea! No screws, no glue, just hook them over the door and you have a strong set of hooks for their bags, coats, jackets, scarves, dressing gowns and anything else that usually ends up on the floor.

Children's book tidy

Now this is definitely on my ‘I want’ list as my daughter is a bit of a bookworm and has a habit of reading around 5 books in one go and then ‘storing’ them under her bed where they are inevitably lost in the great book eating jungle that dwells there. This tidy books box is ideal for storing their bedtime books as well as diaries, magazines and so on. All the books face outwards so you can see exactly which book is where. It can hold up to 40 books and comes in either a natural, white or blue finish. The removable clock face is great for teaching children the time and the handle at the top means it is fully portable so can even be popped in the car for long car journeys.

Hanging Pocket Tidy

This hanging pocket tidy brightens up bedroom doors and turns them into pockets of fun! Ideal for the younger child, it has different sized storage pockets for toys and odds and ends as well as a pincushion for photos and artwork and a handy mirror so they can see how gorgeous they are! It’ll instantly transform a room and will delight your child – a great price too!

With these brilliant storage ideas, keeping their rooms free from clutter needn’t be such a chore or so expensive either. They won’t stop the trail of mess that accompanies children to their rooms, but they will make tidier that little bit easier – no matter who is doing it!
